The Bayfield Area Food Bank is in urgent need of a new space as it must vacate its current location in the former Bayfield Lions Club Building by April 4th. The search continues for a suitable location, whether temporary or permanent, that can support its operations.
Discussions have taken place about possible new locations, but many of the suggested options have not been suitable due to issues such as size, accessibility, or availability. The Municipality has reviewed several possibilities, including locations already assessed by the Food Bank, but a solution has yet to be found.
The organization requires a space that can hold shelving and refrigeration units, support its food distribution schedule, and be available for a short-term lease of up to six months. It is still unclear whether proceeds from the sale of the former Lions Club Building could be used to help secure a new location.
The community is being asked to help by suggesting potential locations. Anyone with leads is encouraged to reach out to ensure food assistance remains available to those in need.
