It’s Crabby Joe’s game day. The Exeter Hawks face off against the Petrolia Flyers at 8pm at the South Huron Recreation Centre in Exeter.

Exeter Hawks defenseman Nate Coward is living a dream by playing for his hometown team. Growing up in Exeter, he always watched the Hawks play and now gets to be part of the action himself.

He noted playing for his hometown team makes the experience extra special.

Interestingly, he didn’t always play defense.

Now, Coward and his teammates are in the middle of the playoff race, battling against Petrolia for first place. He describes the bond among the Hawks as a strong one.

One of the biggest motivators for the team has been the Hawks’ passionate fan base.

Coward has a special connection on the ice—his brother, Will, is not only a teammate but also his defense partner.

His message to Hawks fans?

Game 4 is set for tonight, and with home-ice advantage, the Hawks are hoping their loyal fans will help push them to victory.
