The Huron County Health Unit are bringing the Red Scarf campaign to Blyth.
It is happening next Monday (2nd) to coincide with World AIDS Day on Sunday (1st) This is the 6th year that the health unit is having this campaign.
Public Health Nurse Kate Underwood tells us what this campaign is about.
Underwood says despite the advances in medical treatment there is still the stigma connected to HIV and AIDS and that has prevented people living with the disease and their caregivers from getting support.
She says one person in Canada is diagnosed with HIV every three hours and 14 percent of those who are HIV positive don’t know that they have it.
