The Huron Perth Catholic District School Board has released their Community Stakeholder School Reopening Guide.
The board will be determining a staggered entry plan with more details to be released.
HPCDSB will be providing materials for students to help limit sharing, implementing enhanced cleaning, and bringing in a number of plans to help keep students safe.
As for recess students will participate in cohorts and classrooms will be separated within the school yard to prevent mixing of cohorts.
Students, staff and guardians are responsible for ensuring they self screen each day for signs of COVID-19 or any other illness.
Anyone with symptoms is not allowed to attend school, and must seek appropriate medical attention including getting tested for COVID-19.
Before and after school child care programs will be allowed with protocols in place.
Highlights of what classrooms will look like can be found below.
As to what classrooms will look like:
Kindergarten will see play based learning continue, with students being provided learning materials to limit items being shared, enhanced cleaning will take place, and instruction will take place in smaller groups.
For grades 1-8, the Board will be providing required classroom materials like notebooks, pencils, among other items to limit sharing of items, digital tools will also be used when appropriate, and students will remain in their classrooms, with teachers rotating to limit student movement.
For secondary school students they will also be supplied with needed materials. Students will also have a new schedule called quadmestering which will see the year divided into 4 parts with students taking 2 courses in each quad. Periods 1 and 2 will be in the first quad, which the other quads will follow a similar pattern. One course will be taken each day for a week in one class, before switching to the next class the following week.
