Now that the U.S. election results are finalized and Joe Biden is President-Elect, the attention turns to the transition period prior to him taking office January 20th.
Fanshawe College Professor and Political Analyst Matt Farrell says Biden’s first mandate is no surprise.
Farrell says the voting turnout for this year enters a new playing field for both parties, and suggests Republicans may need to try a different approach to grow their base.
He doesn’t anticipate President Trump’s contest of the election results or refusal to concede will make a big-picture impact on the transfer of power.
