Fanshawe Athletics is getting ready to get back to in-person varsity competitions in the fall after 18-months without sports. With this, they have adopted a vaccination requirement for all student athletes for the 2021-22 season.
All athletes will have to provide proof of vaccination, with two doses of a Health Canada approved vaccine, to participate in the 2021-22 season. This is all a part of the College’s focus on making the student experience as safe as possible.
In a release, Nathan McFadden, Manager of Athletics at the College said “This is an important and necessary step to facilitate a safe return to on-campus sports and provide the varsity experience to as many students as possible with the least potential disruption in competition.”
Earlier in the summer myFM reported that Fanshawe was not requiring proof of vaccination for staff and students, and that still applies, this new requirement is for athletes only.
