The United Way Perth-Huron have past the 27 per cent marker in their Annual Campaign, having their goal of $2,002,061 and already reaching $539,832! The money raised from this go right back into the community, to helping food banks, helping people find housing, and supporting other resources in the community.
Darren Boyle, Co-chair, United Way Perth-Huron South Huron & Area Community Committee says that the money raised from this campaign is used in all the ways the community may need.
The United Way Perth-Huron also has another fundraising event coming up on November 5th; the Women United DEBx Talk The Voice of Dress: Clothing and Community — Canadian Women Speak. This event will hear the stories of women in Canada and what their community’s dress means to them. Boyle adds that this money as well, will stay in the community.
The in-person panel at the Huron venue has been canceled, but the Stratford and Listowel locations are still in-person, and the panel will also be available for online viewing. Tickets cost $30.
