Back to school this week and one of the challenges parents have during this time is making sure the right food and dietary choices go to school with their kids.
We talked with Claire Bilik, she’s a Registered Dietician with the Middlesex-London Health Unit and she says two key things are balance and variety.
She says a balanced lunch can come in many forms but mainly choosing foods from Canada’s Food Guide.
The Food Guide has great tips and a whole section on healthy eating at school and making balanced choices at school.
Also the Ontario Dieticians and Public Health has a resource called A School Lunch Your Kids Will Munch.
