The first ever Grants Gala was recently held by the Sunset Community Foundation.
25 grants totalling $100 thousand were presented to community organizations that serve Lambton and Huron Counties.
The Foundation focuses on areas including children and youth families and community vitality, health, education, social services, preservation of the environment, inclusion, arts and culture and more.

Jingle Bells Group partnered with Municipality of Lambton Shores Light Up Grand Bend for the 2023 Holiday Season. To purchase lights and decorations $2,000
Southcott Pines Park Association partnered with Ausable OAC Clean Up 2023 will provide the labour costs for two people for 4 weeks to manually remove vegetation and debris $5,000
West Coast Lions Club partnered with Municipality of Lambton Shores Wednesday Familiar Favourites, concerts on the beach $3,000
Workout For Your Life partnered Huron Shores United Church. Workout For Your Life Seniors Wellness Program to provide workouts 3 times a week to encourage a wellness program for seniors.$1,600
North Middlesex YMCA 2023 Summer Day Camp Bussing for campers ages 4 -12 $3,000
Optimist Club of Ausable Port Franks partnered with Municipality of Lambton Shores. The Ausable Port Franks Fire, Water and Ice Safety Program to provide programs related to youth related to Fire, Water, and Ice Safety. $2,000
Rural Response for Healthy Children Mobile Food Bank Resource Funding for activity kits available to families via mobile food banks $3,000
Gateway Centre of Excellence in Rural Health Sustainable Community Wellness community based mental health training for two providers to obtain their Mental Health Facilitator Association certification. $10,000
Huron Shores United Church & Grand Bend Place Including Everyone Through Accessibility Upgrades provide Grab Rails in all washrooms and headphones for all individuals with hearing impairment. $2,500
Scouts Canada Dune Restoration & Environmental Education Day that provides hands-on activities such as planting dune grass, cutting down invasive pines and the study of bees and raptors, has already taken place this past month! $1,900
Family Connections Cheer Group partnered with Order of Alhambra. Algarva Charity Council CHEER Group Ongoing Learning food program which supplies snacks and lunch for a full day respite program that supports adults with intellectual disabilities. $4,000
Lake Huron Centre for Coastal Conservation Lake Huron Microplastic Awareness Project Create teams of volunteers to pick up litter along the shorelines and categorize the different types into a database and help create different decision making. $2,500
Lakeshore Eco-Network partnered with Ausable Bayfield Conservation Foundation Reconnecting with Nature Series of activities including speakers, displays, screenings, and guided hikes to further develop appreciation of nature. $3,900

Big Brothers Big Sisters of South Huron Big Bunch This program partners adults with school age children to participate in weekly activities for the duration of the school year. (Expand the existing big bunch program to include additional site in either Clinton or Seaforth. $10,000
