Jessica’s House Hospice is described as a “home away from home” for residents from the time of diagnosis through their palliative and end-of-life journey.
Tracy Snell is the Director and says a residential hospice provides individuals who cannot be cared for in the home with compassionate care and comfort in the last stages of their life. Jessica’s House is a three bed residential hospice located in Exeter.
The hospice was named after Jessica Marie Hamather, who passed away Dec 1st, 2015 from a rare aggressive cancer. Prior to her death, Jessica graduated with distinction from the University of Guelph receiving a Bachelor of Science Honours degree.
Snell says donations and a strong volunteer base are key to the programs success.
