Just in time for Mother’s Day – fishing pole kits are now available to borrow at Lambton County Library.
Each kit contains one fishing pole and one tackle box, and you can borrow them for a week at a time.
Throughout Mother’s day weekend, Canadian residents can fish within Ontario for free, with no fishing license required as part of a Natural Resources and Forestry initiative. The kits are also available year round.
“Public libraries are increasingly adding more objects to their collections that allow people, regardless of age or income, to learn a new skill or hobby, or gain new knowledge,” said Kevin Coates, Public Services Coordinator, Collections. “Fishing is a great form of stress relief, provides excitement, teaches patience, and keeps you physically active. The Library is happy to help support this activity with these new kits.”
The addition of fishing pole kits further expands the library’s Active Living Lifestyle collection, which also includes Ontario Provincial Parks passes, snowshoes, walking poles, binoculars, and GPS devices for geocaching.
