It’s Paramedic Services Week, a great time to recognize the people that help us all when we need it most.
There are around 20 paramedics on duty every day in Huron County, across 8 stations, providing a variety of services that don’t just stop at emergency calls.
David Wagner – Paramedic Superintendent for the County of Huron says that they provide ongoing care for residents, besides emergency medical services.
According to Wagner, paramedics are taught from day one to deeply respect the people they serve,
He says that he initially got into paramedicine due to the unpredictable nature of it – every day is different.
Although it’s a exciting career, Wagner says it’s not just like you see on TV – a lot of their job is working with patients to help them get the care that they need by encouraging them to seek further medical attention, and educating the public through various programs.
When asked what the public can we do to support our paramedics better, Wagner says it doesn’t take much,
