Although there was a fire ban in effect this past weekend, a windmill North of Goderich missed the memo.
On Saturday, June 3rd at around 6:30am, a turbine burst into flames, with the main fire burning until shortly after 9am.
The blades continued to burn, and local fire departments remained on the scene to ensure that falling debris didn’t spark a blaze on the ground.
Luckily, the field beneath the turbine was empty, and did not catch fire.
An investigation into the cause of the fire is ongoing.
