The Seaforth Community Hospital Foundation has received a generous donation of $700 from Mitchell District High School, showcasing the school’s commitment to supporting their local community. The donation was made possible through a charity basketball game organized by the school’s Leadership class, which pitted staff and students against the local OPP.
The event, held in May, was a testament to the students’ dedication and organizational skills. The Seaforth Community Hospital Foundation expressed deep gratitude for the initiative taken by the students.
Ron Lavoie, Chair of the Seaforth Community Hospital Foundation, commended the students for their outstanding efforts. “This was a wonderful student-led initiative,” he said. “The Foundation is honored to be one of the recipients benefiting from the funds raised during this event.”
Carly McLeod, the teacher of the Leadership class, shared her immense pride in her students’ accomplishments. “They did a great job organizing this event! They showed great leadership and community involvement,”
The $700 donation will be utilized to acquire equipment that will enhance patient care at the Seaforth Community Hospital.
Lavoie extended his appreciation once again to the students of the Leadership class and Ms. McLeod for their remarkable efforts in making the event a success. Their dedication and commitment to community service serve as an inspiration to others.
