Gerrits shows off some of the children's work.
Some local kids are working to spread joy and kindness throughout the community.
The JK and SK classes at Clinton Cooperative Childcare have been busy decorating paper grocery bags with colorful paint markers, glitter, and glue.
Deidre Gerrits works at Clinton Cooperative Childcare, she says that they were trying to teach the kids how to spread joy,
The project was part of the daycare’s Kindness Week, during which the children engaged in various activities aimed at promoting empathy and compassion within the community.
They delivered cards to the residents of Anne Field Manor, a retirement home in Clinton, as well as visiting their local fire station and library, and thanking the people that work there.
The impact of this project goes beyond the joy it brings to the recipients. Gerrits’ co-worker Sheridyn Vanaltena emphasized that teaching young children about kindness and giving is crucial in their early developmental years.
Vanaltena says that while project serves as a reminder that small acts of kindness can go a long way, she loves that she has a role in shaping the leaders of tomorrow,
Clinton Cooperative Childcare continues to inspire young hearts, nurturing the spirit of generosity and compassion that will undoubtedly shape these children into caring, thoughtful individuals as they grow and flourish.
