The town of Exeter is going to be alive with vibrant music, food and community when it plays host to a Multicultural Festival on August 13th.
Dr. Geza Wordofa, the festival organizer and an advocate with the Multicultural Association of Perth-Huron, says that multiculturalism is essential to the Canadian identity,
The Multicultural Festival, taking place at McNaughton Park from 2-7 pm, promises a delightful array of cultural experiences for all attendees. From the rhythmic beats of Latin music, the soulful tunes of reggae, to the heartwarming melodies of country music, the festival will offer a lively atmosphere that celebrates the rich tapestry of cultures present in the area.
Dr. Wordofa expressed his excitement about the festival’s ability to unite various communities and showcase the strength of Exeter’s multicultural fabric,
As an event funded entirely by donations, the festival’s proceeds will be directed towards supporting Ukrainian families in their transition out of the care of host families,
Proceeds will also help with language services, and programming.
Dr. Wordofa encouraged anyone interested in volunteering for the festival or future multicultural initiatives to join their ranks. The festival organizers can be reached via email at info@MAPH.ca or by phone at 226-339-1547. Language barriers are no obstacle, as the organizers cater to attendees in 32 different languages.
As the Multicultural Festival approaches, the gathering stands as a shining example of how a diverse community can thrive and strengthen when united under the banner of inclusivity and appreciation for cultural differences.
