It’s Crabby Joe’s game day. The Exeter Hawks play Aylmer tonight at 8pm at the South Huron Recreation Centre in Exeter.
This week, myFM caught up with Chase Wedlake, a right-wing player for the Exeter Hawks.
This season marks Chase’s third year with the team. His hockey journey began at the age of 16 when he donned the Hawks’ jersey for the first time.
He describes this experience as transformative, a process that has truly built him as a hockey player.
When asked about what it means to him to play on his home ice, he mentions the incredible support from the fans.
But hockey is not just about individual skills; it’s also about teamwork and camaraderie. Chase emphasizes the importance of bonding with his teammates.
Chase’s memorable moments with the PJHL team are etched in his memory. One of the major highlights was scoring his first goal in his first game—a dream come true, especially in his hometown.
As for the future, Chase hopes to return next year, eager to continue representing Exeter.
He encourages everyone to come out and support the team, especially after last weekend’s success.
Go tonight and cheer on your hometown Hawks! Come before or after the game and fuel up at Crabby Joe’s in Exeter.
