The Municipality of Bluewater is teaming up with the Clinton Disc Golf Club to introduce residents to a new sport!
The “Introduction to Disc Golf” session is scheduled for next Saturday, (October 28th), from 11 to 3, making it a perfect opportunity for residents of all ages to try their hand at this rapidly growing sport.
Denver Boertien, the Recreation Coordinator, says that the sport is fun, affordable, and easy to learn – making it a perfect opportunity to get out and get active all year around.
The sport is also one that has no barriers or expensive equipment, which Boertien thinks is a great perk.
Sign up to learn how to make best use of the recently established Hensall Disc Golf Course, featuring four baskets that can be played both forward and backward. Given the unpredictable weather, Boertien advises everyone to make sure that they’re dressed for the weather.
Although there are various strategies, tips, and tricks in disc golf the Clinton Disc Golf Club will be on hand to guide everyone.
The Huron County Library also has disc golf equipment available for use in their object library.
It is preferred that participants register in advance, but even last-minute drop-ins are more than welcome.
Denver mentioned other exciting programs in the area, such as pickleball for all skill levels, Zumba classes in Hensall, and yoga classes in Zurich. Also, keep an eye out for the Winter Rec Guide set to be released in December, promising even more opportunities for community engagement.
