The Halloween spirit is alive and well in Zurich, and it’s all thanks to Barb Jeffrey and Marty Isaac, two locals whose shared love for the spookiest holiday has turned their home into a Halloween haven.
Barb says that their love of Halloween is part of what brought them together.
What started as a modest decoration project four years ago has now evolved into an impressive display featuring more than 74 characters, making their house a must-visit attraction this evening.
Barb and Marty’s collaborative effort has not only transformed their home but also created a sense of community and goodwill. They’ve chosen Blessings, a local food bank in Zurich, as the beneficiary of their Halloween extravaganza – taking donations for their display.
The enthusiasm for their Halloween display is infectious. People from near and far can’t seem to get enough of it. Bus drivers have been known to double back for a second look, while kids on the school bus are delighted by the ever-expanding spectacle. It’s not just the locals who are captivated; visitors from Toronto, Kitchener, Waterloo, Goderich, Clinton, and even Exeter have made the pilgrimage to witness the Halloween magic in Zurich.
Barb has taken her decorations to a whole new level, turning her home into a year-round celebration of all things spooky. Halloween offers a myriad of character options, and Barb’s enthusiasm knows no bounds.
The response has been overwhelming, with almost 300 kids trick-or-treating at her doorstep last year. But it’s not just for the youngsters – adults can indulge in treats too, with offerings like apple cider and jello shooters.
Barb Jeffrey and Marty Isaac’s Halloween extravaganza is bound to keep growing, delighting locals and visitors alike for years to come.
