It’s time for 12 days of Fire Safety, brought to you by the South Huron Fire Department, and Lambton Shores Fire Department.
Today’s tip? Make sure that your holiday lights, are up to snuff.
South Huron’s Fire Prevention Officer Mike Herbert, says that it’s important to inspect your lights annually for damages.
Open circuits pose electrical fire hazards, so it’s important to make sure that nothing is exposed that shouldn’t be.
FPO Herbert says it’s also important to make sure that you’re using the right kind of lights for the right environment.
