With the constant change in temperatures we’ve been seeing as of late, mixed with all the rain and snow we’ve seen over the past few days, waterways have begun to pose a risk.
Constable Jill Johnson of Perth OPP says it is best to just stay away from waterways at this time.
Constable Johnson says it is important to protect vulnerable groups.
Make sure to steer clear of shorelines, watercourses, and flooded zones due to hazardous conditions, including slippery banks, and swift-moving water.
Also remember to never step on any ice on bodies of water as you never know how unstable the ice can be.
