STUFF TO DO
The Municipality of South Huron is hosting public skating for residents. Head down to the South Huron Recreation Centre in Exeter today from 1:00 pm to 11:50 am, or head down to the Stephen Arena in Huron Park from 4:00pm – 4:50pm tomorrow. These skating sessions are open to everyone and come at no cost.
Today at 10:30, the Goderich Museum’s Walking Scrabble and Coffee Social combines exercise, mental stimulation, and socializing. Participants can walk indoors at the museum, play Walking Scrabble, and enjoy coffee and word games. Admission is included with regular museum entry or free for members and Huron County Library cardholders.
Trivitt Memorial Anglican Church in Exeter is hosting a Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper tonight from 5:00 to 7:00 pm. It’s an opportunity for the community to come together and enjoy delicious pancakes before the start of Lent.
If you’re looking for another place to get your fill of pancakes, The Anglican Parish of the Holy Spirit in Seaforth is hosting a Drive-Thru Shrove Tuesday meal today from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. During the event, participants can indulge in delicious pancakes and sausages served with real maple syrup. The meal is available for pickup at the corner of Jarvis and John Streets, and no advanced tickets are necessary. Donations are encouraged, with 50% of the proceeds going towards supporting the Seaforth Food Bank.
Elsewhere in pancake world, St. John’s By The Lake Anglican Church in Grand Bend, is hosting their Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. The event will feature a spread of pancakes, sausages, and various toppings. Attendees are invited to enjoy the meal and contribute to the event by making a donation.
Join Socrates Cafe for engaging and spontaneous discussions every other Tuesday from January 30 to March 26, 2024. Held at Grand Bend Place, these sessions run from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm. The group welcomes individuals to participate in open dialogues on various topics – it’s an opportunity for community members to come together, share ideas, and explore a wide range of subjects in a relaxed setting.
The Zurich Library is hosting weekly Gentle Yoga Sessions – with one coming up today at 1:00 pm. These sessions offer a tranquil opportunity to engage in yoga practice. Participants are encouraged to bring their own yoga mats if available.

Head down to Play and Connect with EarlyON in Seaforth, today from 3:00 pm to 4:30 pm. It offers an opportunity for parents to engage with an EarlyON Facilitator, and ask questions related to parenting, their child’s development, and gain insights into available community resources.
Later this evening, The Goderich Library is hosting a recurring event called “Tween Scene” aimed at kids aged 9 to 12. This event takes place every month on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday from 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm – this week will feature an activity called “Candy Sushi.” Participants can expect games, activities, and more.
