Exeter’s White Squirrel Bakery witnessed a bustling scene on Wednesday (February 14) as EcoExeter held their much-anticipated Bring Your Own Mug Day. The initiative, aimed at promoting sustainability and reducing single-use plastics, garnered significant support.
The premise was simple yet effective: individuals were encouraged to bring their own mugs, and in return, the student environmental group covered the cost of their beverage.
President Ryan Marsh was excited to see an incredible turnout.

Throughout the day, the bakery bustled with activity, with queues extending out the door. Enthusiastic students took to the sidewalks, brandishing signs to attract passersby and spread awareness about the event.
The palpable excitement among students reflected the success of the initiative. Witnessing a diverse array of community members actively participating in the cause, and thinking a bit differently about reusable containers.

EcoExeter’s Bring Your Own Mug Day not only provided a platform for meaningful dialogue but also served as a tangible reminder of the collective impact individuals can have when they unite for a common cause.
Ryan said that they hoped the meaning of the event would leave the event with those that came to warm up with a hot beverage.
