Saturday’s Goderich Beach Cleanup organized by the Lake Huron Coastal Centre turned out to be a remarkable success.
Alyssa Bourassa, the interim executive director of the Lake Huron Coastal Centre, described the event as “incredible,” as 175 volunteers rallied together to pick up 480 pounds of garbage from the Goderich shoreline.
The volunteers rolled up their sleeves despite some less than ideal weather – with some areas of the county reporting snow on Saturday.
“We are thrilled with the community turnout from volunteers of all ages,” Bourassa said.
Bourasssa added that the event would not have been possible without many community groups and businesses including Tanner Steffler Foundation, Zehrs Goderich, Rotaract Club of Goderich, Compass Minerals, Cait’s Café, Yoga Den, Goderich Port Management Corporation, NWMO, and Goderich Lions Club.
