The Goderich Celtic Roots Festival is gearing up for its 32nd annual event this August with a newfound sense of pride. Artistic Director and General Manager Cheryl Prashker recently announced that the festival has been recognized by Festival and Events Ontario as one of the top 100 festivals in the province.
This recognition is particularly special as it marks the first time the Goderich Celtic Roots Festival has been nominated for the award. Festival and Events Ontario is a prestigious organization that provides valuable resources to events and festivals across the province, including information about available grants and best practices.
Prashker, who has a unique perspective on the festival from her experience as a former performer, highlighted the festival’s distinctive charm.
The festival’s inclusive and community-oriented approach has left a lasting impression on many musicians, with several reaching out to return for future performances.
The Goderich Celtic Roots Festival will commence on Monday, August 5th, and continue through to Friday, August 9th. The festival itself will kick off on Friday, August 9th, and run until Sunday, August 11th. Attendees can look forward to a weekend filled with traditional Celtic music, dance, and cultural experiences.
