Huron OPP’s Canada Road Safety Week campaign laid 370 charges for local drivers.
With a focus on seatbelt compliance, speeding, impaired and distracted driving, the campaign from May 14th to 20th (including the May long weekend) looked to make your drive safer by taking violators off the road.
The largest offense seen was speeding, with over 200 charges laid in that category alone.
Across the province, more than 14,000 charges were issued throughout the campaign, with over 900 charges laid against drivers and passengers that chose not to wear their seatbelts.
OPP issued thanks to those that did their part in keeping roads safe during the campaign, and encourages everyone to continue to do so throughout the rest of the year.
