
On Monday (June 17), Huron County OPP received a report about a collision involving two vehicles on Winthrop Road in the Municipality of Huron East.
An 80-year-old passenger from Stratford was taken to the hospital with injuries that weren’t life-threatening.
One of the drivers ran from the scene. Huron OPP officers, along with members of the West Region Emergency Response Team and K-9 units, stayed in the area to keep investigating.
The following day the police arrested a 38-year-old person from Central Huron.
Huron OPP are continuing their investigation.
Charges include:
- Dangerous driving causing bodily harm
- Failing to stop after an accident
- Driving while under suspension
- Driving a motor vehicle without a license
- Operating a motor vehicle without insurance
The individual is still in custody.
