In 2023, Huron County OPP teamed up with the Town of Goderich, Central Huron, and the Avon Maitland District School Board to apply for funding from the Ministry of the Solicitor General’s Front-Line Policing Grant. This funding is focused on boosting traffic control and safety by increasing police patrols around schools in Goderich and Central Huron.
A key part of the Huron Community Safety and Well-Being Plan is to ensure that schools remain safe, and these funds will help achieve that goal. Over the next few months, people can expect to see more officers near schools to enhance safety through education and law enforcement efforts.
