Weekly fall leaf collection for urban areas in Bayfield, Brucefield, Dashwood, Hensall, Kippen, Varna, and Zurich has started and will run until Tuesday, November 12th. There is no specific collection day in these areas, as staff will pick up bagged leaves on a rolling basis throughout the collection period.
In lakeshore subdivisions west of Highway 21, leaf collection will occur only on Friday, November 8th.
Residents should remember that leaves must be placed in brown paper bags, as plastic bags will not be collected. Bagged leaves should be placed at the curb or roadside for pick-up. Brush, garbage, and animal waste will not be accepted.
If preferred, residents can take their leaves and brush to the Stanley Landfill during regular hours or drop them off at the green waste depot at the Hay Township Shop in Zurich.
Please be aware that the schedule may change due to weather, and collection will not occur after November 8th for lakeshore subdivisions or after November 12th for urban areas.
