An Extreme Cold Warning is in effect for Goderich, Bluewater, and Southern Huron County, lasting from tonight through Wednesday morning.
Arctic Blast Hits Huron County: Stay Warm, Stay Safe
Jan 21, 2025 | 3:59 PM
Temperatures are expected to feel like minus 30 to minus 35 with the wind chill. An Arctic air mass is causing these dangerously cold conditions, but temperatures should improve by Wednesday afternoon.
Extreme cold can be dangerous for everyone. Watch for signs of cold-related issues such as shortness of breath, chest pain, muscle aches, weakness, numbness, or color changes in fingers and toes.
To stay safe, dress in warm layers, with a wind-resistant outer layer. Cover exposed skin to prevent frostbite, which can happen quickly. Also, check on elderly family members, friends, and neighbors. Remember, if it’s too cold for you, it’s too cold for your pets to be outside.
