Many schools in the Avon Maitland District School Board (AMDSB) provide space for licensed childcare providers to offer before and after school care. However, some schools are facing a shortage of childcare providers, as shown by an annual survey completed by parents and caregivers.
Schools like Brookside PS in Ashfield Township, Hullett Central PS in Londesborough, Huron Centennial PS near Brucefield, and Downie Central PS in St. Pauls need programs to provide childcare before and after school. AMDSB is looking for current childcare providers, community organizations, or individuals who are interested in becoming licensed to offer these services.
