A new task force has been created to help businesses in Huron County deal with challenges from the ongoing Canada-U.S. trade war. The Huron Economic Response Task Force (Huron ERTF) is a joint effort by the Huron Chamber of Commerce, South Huron Chamber of Commerce, and Bayfield & Area Chamber of Commerce. The goal is to provide local businesses with important information, resources, and expert advice to help them handle economic uncertainty.
This task force will improve how businesses get support by making communication easier and helping them access resources quickly. By bringing together key organizations, the Huron ERTF will ensure that businesses in the region can get the help they need when they need it.
Several local business groups, economic development organizations, and community support organizations have already joined the task force, including the Huron Manufacturing Association, Community Futures Huron, and the Ontario Federation of Agriculture (Huron County). Other organizations, such as the Business Improvement Areas in Goderich, Wingham, and Exeter, as well as the Canadian Federation of Independent Business (CFIB), are also involved. More groups are expected to join in the coming weeks.
The task force will hold weekly meetings to track economic conditions and provide updates. A new online resource hub will offer easy access to trade policy updates, government relief programs, and expert advice. Businesses will also be invited to take part in webinars and information sessions with industry professionals, financial advisors, and local leaders.
The main goal of the Huron ERTF is to provide hands-on support for businesses, helping them make informed decisions and adjust to economic changes. The task force aims to simplify the process of finding financial aid, expert advice, and business support services.
Businesses and community members can stay updated by subscribing to the task force’s news list. The initiative will remain active for at least one quarter, with its progress reviewed every three months.
