The biggest fundraiser of the year for the Seaforth and District Food Bank is set to return on April 12th. Souper Saturday, a beloved community event, will take place from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM, bringing together local chefs, food lovers, and supporters to raise funds for a great cause.
Board member, Bill Wallace says the event features a soup competition and a dessert auction, with 15 chefs preparing a variety of soups for attendees to sample.
Audio PlayerTickets, available at the door for $10, allow guests to taste six different soups. Guests can also vote for their favorite, helping decide the People’s Choice Award.
Audio PlayerA panel of three judges will select winners in two categories: Best Cream Soup and Best Clear Soup.
Alongside the soup tastings, auctioneer Ben Lobb will host a dessert auction featuring 30 homemade treats. Proceeds from the event will go directly toward purchasing food for the food bank.
Audio PlayerSuper Saturday has been a staple in Seaforth for over 15 years, with a brief pause during the pandemic. Organizers are also making this year’s event more eco-friendly.
Audio PlayerThe food bank relies on events like Super Saturday to maintain its services, especially as donations tend to decline after the holiday season. Organizers encourage the community to show up, enjoy great food, and support those in need. With over 350 attendees in previous years, Super Saturday is expected to be another great success.
